Market Environment and Pricing for Ferrous Sulphate and Manganese Sulfate

    Nthawi: 2026-07-28 Phokoso: 5

According to market data dated July 28, 2026, ferrous sulfate and manganese sulfate are moving in opposite directions. The specific information is set out below.

Orders in the ferrous sulfate sector remain sluggish overall. Manufacturers are burdened with excessive inventory with no signs of relief. Downstream demand stays weak without any indication of improvement, and the unfavorable supply-demand balance is unlikely to reverse in the short term. Operating data remain unsatisfactory, with the operating rate at only 67% and capacity utilization merely 27%. Amid this downward market environment, ferrous sulfate prices fell by RMB 100 per tonne this week. The product remains in a sustained downward trend, marking three consecutive monthly declines.

In contrast, manganese sulfate is the strongest product in the market this week, maintaining a firm price trend. Against such a backdrop, manganese sulfate enjoys solid cost support. Manganese ore and sulfuric acid prices remain high in major producing areas Hunan and Guangxi, establishing a firm cost floor. At the same time, export demand is robust. Overseas manganese sulfate producers continue production halts, leading to a large shift of overseas orders to China. Domestic downstream feed and fertilizer sectors are in the off-season and only purchase as needed, yet the substantial growth in exports fully sustains manufacturers’ order books. Orders have been scheduled until mid-to-late September, resulting in tight supply. In terms of orders and operation data, the order delivery cycle stands at 55-60 days, unchanged month-on-month. The operating rate is 94% and capacity utilization rate 72%, both remaining steady.
